1. Scope of Services

1.1 Marketplace Services: Settle facilitates the sale and purchase of life insurance policies by connecting policy owners, investors, and agents. Our Platform provides tools for policy listing, bid management, and transaction support to enable efficient and transparent life settlement transactions.

1.2 Advisory Role: Settle does not provide financial, legal, or tax advice. Any information provided on the Platform is for informational purposes only. Users should consult with professional advisors to evaluate life settlement opportunities.

1.3 No Agency Relationship: Use of the Platform does not create any agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship between Settle and its users.

1.4 Limitations: Settle does not guarantee the sale, purchase, or transfer of any life insurance policy through the Platform. The success of transactions depends on market conditions, user actions, and other external factors.

2. Eligibility

2.1 User Requirements: You must be at least 18 years old, legally capable of entering into binding contracts, and comply with applicable laws to use the Platform.

2.2 Compliance with Laws: You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Platform complies with all laws and regulations, including those related to life settlements, in your jurisdiction.

2.3 Prohibited Users: The Platform is not available to individuals or entities who have been previously banned or restricted by Settle, or to residents of jurisdictions where life settlements are not legally permitted.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration: To access certain features of the Platform, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update it promptly if it changes.

3.2 Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for any activity under your account. Notify Settle immediately of any unauthorized use or security breaches.

3.3 Account Suspension: Settle reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts for any violation of these Terms or for engaging in fraudulent or illegal activity.

4. User Responsibilities

4.1 Truthful Information: Users must provide truthful and accurate information about themselves, their financial situation, and any life insurance policies listed on the Platform. Misrepresentation may result in account termination and legal action.

4.2 Due Diligence: Users are responsible for conducting their own research and due diligence regarding life settlements, including verifying the authenticity and value of policies and evaluating potential buyers or sellers.

4.3 Prohibited Activities: Users agree not to:

  • Engage in unlawful, fraudulent, or misleading activities.
  • Upload or distribute harmful, offensive, or illegal content.
  • Interfere with the Platform’s operation or security.
  • Use the Platform to transmit spam, viruses, or other malicious software.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or copy the Platform’s underlying code or technology.

5. Fees and Payments

5.1 Service Fees: Settle may charge service fees for policy listings, transaction support, or other services. Fees will be disclosed prior to your use of the respective service and may vary based on the type of user and transaction.

5.2 Payment Terms: Payments for services are processed through third-party payment providers. By using the Platform, you agree to the provider’s terms of service and privacy policy.

5.3 Refund Policy: Service fees are non-refundable unless expressly stated otherwise or required by law.

5.4 Taxes: You are responsible for any taxes or fees associated with your use of the Platform and any transactions completed through it.

7.2 User Content: By submitting content to the Platform, you grant Settle a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute such content for the purposes of providing services.

10. Termination
